How to Use Agave Nectar

Cocktails

Agave nectar is a great substitute for simple syrup.  Agave nectar mixes easily in cocktails, has low viscosity and does not crystalize over time.  Agave nectar also imparts a sweet and subtle flavor into your cocktail creation.

Agave nectar works as a sugar substitute for tequila drinks and other clear spirits. Agave nectar keeps refrigerated as long as the other simple syrup sugar substitutes. Alternatively, mix agave nectar by itself into drinks, but you should add about a third less than the recipe requires because it's much sweeter than sugar.

Coffee & Tea

Agave nectar is a terrific sweetener for hot beverages. Agave does not clump at the bottom like honey or maple syrup. Agave’s flavour will impart a flavourful sweetness into your hot beverage. Many coffee and tea shops are choosing agave to compliment their sweetener offerings for their customers.

Cooking & Baking

Sheer Agave Nectar is a complete natural sugar substitute perfect for cooking & baking. It has a lower glycemic index, gluten free, dissolves both in hot & cold liquids and has other advantages over refined sugar.

Agave Nectar is less viscous than other sweeteners, it has a stable shelf life, does not crystallize, nor does it need to be refrigerated. Sheer Agave Nectar blends easily into recipes - simply squeeze the liquid from a bottle and it stirs quickly into both cold and hot liquids as well as other ingredients.

Agave Nectar is a great alternative to sugar. It is sweeter than sugar so you use less: ¼ to ½ cup of agave nectar for every 1 cup of sugar in the original recipe. This means lower calories!

Agave Nectar has excellent moisture retaining properties: adding moisture and binding properties to gluten-free recipes.

Agave Nectar is ideal for bread and to create baked goods with light and fluffy texture.

Agave Nectar will keep baked goods fresher for longer periods of time. Baked goods with agave nectar brown more quickly; so oven temperature and cooking time should be reduced.
